Circular Prop Project

Developed in collaboration with The Or Foundation, our stage letters and red dot rug made from 20kg of textile waste recovered from Kantamanto Market and repurposed at The Or Foundation’s Material Technology and Transformation Lab (MTTL) in Old Fadama.

In collaboration with The Or Foundation, our stage letters and red dot rug made from approximately 20kg of textile waste recovered from Kantamanto Market and repurposed at The Or Foundation’s Material Technology and Transformation Lab (MTTL) in Old Fadama.

TEDxAccra organizers Jesse and Klenam set out for the 2026 TEDxAccra event to rethink how the event itself was built.

In a city increasingly confronted with flooding and polluted waterways, they saw an opportunity to spotlight local solutions and put circular innovation into practice, rather than simply talk about it.

Through a collaboration with The Or Foundation, TEDx organizers across West Africa can now request our mobile, zero-waste stage props for their events. The package includes:

3D TEDx Letters: Crafted at the Material Technology & Transformation Lab (MTTL) using Cassaboard—a high-performance, fire-resistant biocomposite created from 16 kg of post-consumer clothing waste recovered directly from Accra's Kantamanto Market.

Red Dot Stage Rug: Hand-crafted using 4 kg of Tarnty, a 100% circular yarn produced entirely from discarded T-shirts.

By borrowing this set for your event, you reduce production costs, eliminate event-build waste, and provide your audience with a tangible, on-stage example of circular design in action.

"Bringing a piece of Kantamanto onto the TEDxAccra stage was our way of providing physical evidence of what’s possible—proving that waste is simply a resource waiting for imagination, and that circular design should be our industrial standard."
